Associates at INL
Become an Associate at INL (MPA)
Boost your career at INL, a state-of-the-art research environment, filled with growth opportunities in different areas.
Scientific Associates
If you are a researcher with an individual research grant, such as post-doctoral grant, you can contribute to our scientific programmes.
You can participate in ongoing INL research programmes, or propose your own independent project, aligned with our key research areas, so we encourage you to explore potential opportunities with us.
Project Associates
If you are a researcher from an external institution, you can collaborate with INL on behalf of your home institution under various project frameworks.
These partnerships often fall under programmes such as CBPF (Brazilian Center for Physics Research), FCT Mobilities (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia), IACOBUS (cross-border cooperation program), and Nanogateway (nanotechnology collaboration initiative).
These collaborations establish a platform for knowledge exchange, joint research, and access to INL's state-of-the-art facilities and expertise.
Cooperation Associates
If you are a professor, you can collaborate with us under a formal Cooperation Agreement established between INL and your institution.
These agreements typically involve long-term partnerships where Group Leaders, University Professors, or senior academic staff work closely with INL on strategic research initiatives.
These collaborations foster the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources, allowing you to engage in joint research projects, co-supervise graduate students, and contribute to INL’s cutting-edge research programmes.
How can you apply?
To apply for any of these categories, please contact an INL Member from the research area most relevant to your work. That person will then carefully review your proposal and assess the potential for an agreement, based on the alignment of your topic with INL's priorities, available resources, and ongoing projects.
Once your proposal is approved, the INL Member will make an Associateship request to our MPA Office. The MPA Office will guide you through the necessary administrative steps and ensure all requirements for your association with INL are met.
These collaboration requests are a competitive process and depend on both the merit of the research proposal and the availability of resources. Therefore, we encourage you to thoroughly explore the different research groups at INL to identify the one that aligns more closely with your academic and/or professional background and research interests.
